Happy Friday – the laaaast Friday before Christmas! Are you ready? I am NOT! I still have shopping and planning and baking to do. I am not a huge cookie fan, but during the holidays I always try to make a couple of different kinds to have on hand or to trade at a cookie swap or a Christmas Open House.
This week I gathered some of the best Christmas cookies recipes from some of my favorite blogs. I won’t make all 8 cookies listed here, but I will try to make three or four to have for our Christmas tree decorating night (no, our tree still is not up – no judging) and Christmas Eve eve, when we watch our favorite Christmas shows.
I had never thought of combining cookies and hot chocolate into one delicious treat – but luckily Averie Cooks did with her Hot Chocolate Cookies.
Up next is one of my favorite blogs, Bless This Mess, where Melissa has a great recipe for old fashion molasses cookies.
I’ve been on a coconut kick lately, and I think these beautiful macaroons from Rachel Shultz will be as nice addition to our holiday treats.
Confession – I’ve never made gingerbread cookies. I eat them, for sure, but I’ve never actually made any. This healthy gingerbread cookie recipe from Cookie + Kate may change that….
I Heart Naptime has a great recipe for fancy-sounding Bon Bon Cookies – I especially love the simple decorations Jamielyn uses to dress these cookies up for Christmas.
Orange Short Bread Cookies from Pinch of Yum feature fresh strawberries, for a lighter sweet treat.
For the gluten free or vegan family or friends, try these Almond Joy Cookies from Texanerin Baking .
No Christmas cookie collection would be complete without some Peppermint. Kristin over at Yellow Bliss Road has an easy-peasy recipe for Double Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, and bonus, they only have FIVE ingredients!
