There are definite signs of spring at Boxshop, despite the fact it is snowing and there was an one hour delay for school this morning. I’m grateful for the extra hour home today, since it feels like I’ve been on screech for the past month, trying to balance work, kids, school, life in general. I know when I start to feel smothered (by my own hand, no less) it’s time sit down and take stock of what I’m doing – what I need to do, want to do, would like to do, ect… I dug out my New Year’s goals and compared them to what I was currently spending time and energy on. After a little soul searching over a cup of hot tea, I was able to cull some things from my ever present To Do List; In this case it was some low wage freelance work I thought would be interesting to write about, but instead ended up being a huge time suck. Life once again feels more manageable, not to mention more enjoyable. Letting go of things that don’t add value to my life is a skill I continue to work on.
On Tuesday afternoon I took some of my new found free time to snap a photo of the snow drops just starting to show. They are the first signs of spring at my little farmhouse.
Do you ever find yourself needing to slow down?
